Who were the best - and worst - dressed at the MTV Video Music Awards?

With Miley Cyrus hosting, the event was always going to end in trouble, but we didn't count on some of these 'interesting' outfits.

Asking Miley Cyrus to host the MTV Video Music Awards was always going to end in trouble.

After 2013’s notorious werking incident, the host was determined to shock at the LA ceremony - but this time it was her awful outfits (and not her nipple slip) that drew the most attention.

The 22-year-old showcased an array of 11 equally ridiculous outfits costing a huge XXXX and featuring some very tasteful latex, pompoms, plastic and coloured perspex.

But the singer wasn’t the only one who should have taken a Wrecking Ball to their closet.

With the exception of a rare few, such as Vanessa Hudgens, it seemed most celebs thought the dress code was shock and awe.

Let’s face it, it’s a rare day when Kim Kardashian looks overdressed...
