THE new breed of alternative pop,
rock and dance heavyweights will share stages with the architects of
decades of hits at the annual summer Falls Festival.
International
chart slayers London Grammar and The Avalanches (in their first
national tour in more than 15 years) will be expected to draw some of
the biggest crowds at the New Years events in Byron Bay, Lorne, Marion
Bay and for the first time, Fremantle. The international contingent, headlined by the already announced Childish Gambino, also includes Catfish and the Bottlemen, Fat Freddy’s Drop, recent tourists Grouplove, Jamie T, Broods, MØ, AlunaGeorge and Booka Shade.
The first round is completed by Client Liaison, Vallis Alps, Parquet Courts, City Calm Down, L D R U, Modern Baseball, Tired Lion, Remi, Ry X, Marlon Williams, Lemaitre and Shura.
While the headliners will all be making the westward trek, the bad news for Fremantle fans is not all the acts will be performing at the inaugural event.
The camping festival has grown in the wake of the demise of the big travelling events including Big Day Out and Soundwave.
Tickets go on sale via falls festival.com.au from 9am on August 30.
